The International Jewish Film Festival

The annual International Jewish Film Festival in Hollywood provides a showcase for the most distinguished films on Jewish themes from around the world.

The festival attracts some of the world’s most respected figures in the entertainment industry, including directors Arthur Hiller and Jeremy Kagan, producers Arthur Cohn and Branko Lustig, and actors Theodore Bikel and Maximilian Schell, along with more than 100 university film students and young filmmakers. This interaction stimulates future productions with Jewish substance.

The International Jewish Film Festival feels it is important that this event be held in Hollywood, exploring film as an accessible medium to observe Jewish cultural similarities and differences, as individuals and as part of a global community.

Ultimately, film is one of the most important ways of celebrating and preserving culture. It enables us to recognize the larger concerns that connect us all. Building on positive images created in recent years by “Jewish Hollywood,” we can insure that billions of people around the world are presented with these positive images for decades to come and Jewish youth will be motivated by seeing their people portrayed in a positive and productive light.
